关于海豚的演讲稿篇1

over the years, bill clinton showed himself to be much more than a good politician. his home state elected him governor in the 1970s, the 1980s, and the 1990s, because he was an innovator, a serious student of policy, and a man of great compassion. in the white house, the whole nation witnessed his brilliance and mastery of detail, his persuasive power, and his persistence. the president is not the kind to give up a fight. his staffers were known to say, "if clinton were the titanic, the iceberg would sink."

during his presidency, bill clinton seized important opportunities on issues from welfare to free trade. he was a tireless champion of peace in the middle east. he used american power in the balkans to confront aggression and halt ethnic cleansing. and in all his actions and decisions, the american people sensed a deep empathy for the poor and the powerless. shortly before leaving office, president clinton said, "christ admonished us that our lives will be judged by how we do unto the least of our neighbors." throughout his career, bill clinton has done his best to live up to that standard. and americans respect him for it. at every stage of his remarkable life, president clinton has made and kept countless friends, who share in the joy of this day. and three people in particular have the largest part in this remarkable story. one day more than 30 years ago, inside the yale law library, a fellow student walked over to bill clinton and said, "if you're going to keep staring at me, and i'm going to keep staring back, we ought to at least know each other's name. mine's hillary rodham. what is yours?"that was a good day for both of them, and the beginning of a partnership unique in american history. so today, we honor the former first lady of arkansas, the former first lady of america, the united states senator from new york, senator hillary rodham clinton.

perhaps the clintons' greatest achievement is their daughter, who moved into the white house as a young girl, and left as an accomplished young lady. it's not easy to be a teenager in the white house, but it's a lot easier when you have a loving mother and a loving father that chelsea clinton had.

the importance of keeping optimistic

honourable judges, ladies and gentlemen, good afternoon! today i would liketo talk about the importance of keeping optimistic. when we encounterdifficulties in life, we notice that some of us choose to bury their heads inthe sand. unfortunately, however, this attitude will do you no good, because ifyou will have no courage even to face them, how can you conquer them? thus, beoptimistic, ladies and gentlemen, as it can give you confidence and help you seeyourself through the hard times, just as winston churchill once said, “anoptimist sees an opportunity in every calamity; a pessimist sees a calamity inevery opportunity.”

ladies and gentlemen, keeping optimistic, you will be able to realize, inspite of some hardship, there’s always hope waiting for you, which will lead youto the ultimate success. historically as well as currently, there are too manyoptimists of this kind to enumerate. you see, thomas edison is optimistic; ifnot, the light of hope in his heart could not illuminate the whole world. alfrednobel is optimistic; if not, the explosives and the prestigious nobel prizewould not have come into being. and lance armstrong is also optimistic; if not,the devil of cancer would have devoured his life and the world would not see a5-time winner of the tour de france. a rose may be beautiful, or maybe not; thatdepends on your attitude only, and so does success, so does life. hindrances anddifficulties do exist, but if you are optimistic, then they are only episodes onyour long way to the throne of success; they are more bridges than obstacles!now i prefer to end my speech with the great british poet shelley’s lines: “ifwinter comes, can spring be far behind? thank you!

one day mr. green, the science teacher, asked his class, "what do you want to be when you grow up?"

"i want to be a dolphin trainer like my uncle," mike answered.

"why do you want to be a dolphin trainer?" asked mr. green.

"because i'm interested in dolphin language."

"dolphin language? tell us more."

"all right," answered mike, "my uncle tells me that dolphins are very clever. one day my uncle saw a sick dolphin in the pool. it couldn't come up for air. so it whistled to the other dolphins for help. they came to their friend and made some strange sounds. they looked sad. then together they pushed the sick dolphin's head up above the water. soon it got well."

"some scientists once said to my uncle, 'if you live with a dolphin and talk to it all day, maybe you can teach it some words.' my uncle decided to do that. he lived with a dolphin. the dolphin loved to play ball so he decided to teach the word 'ball' first. he threw a ball to the dolphin and said the word 'ball' many times. soon the dolphin started to say the word."

kate asked, "how do they make sounds?"

mike didn't know.

"they make sounds through blowholes in their heads," said mr. green. "scientists know a little about dolphin language, but they have a lot more to learn."

"that's why i want to be a dolphin trainer," said mike.

have you ever heard about warren buffet, the second richest person in the world? well, today i am not going to talk about him but his three kids.

for someone whose parent is such an extraordinarily successful investor, the three kids come out pretty ordinary guys. when they were young, they each received $ 10,000 a year. if they wanted to borrow more money form their father, they have to sign a written agreement. when growing up, however, they all found their lovely jobs-housewife, farmer, musician, instead of relying on their well off father.

it seems that they are unlucky to have a father who criticizes the self-indulgence of super-rich. but is it really true? no, absolutely not! in fact, they are grateful to him because they found their own passion which suits their true talent, and they are able to make money on their own.

so what could we learn from them? three words: independence, responsibility, passion. indeed we are fortunate to be protected by the whole family, but this cannot be the reason for us to become boomerang children.

although we, the generation of 90s have been questioned from the day we were born: selfness and weakness, indifference and rebellion, sensitivity and pride, we are still pressing on with our creed: yes we can. at a time when the earthquake happened in we chuan, we were praised by the whole public because of the bravery and determination we show during the process of rescuing. yes we can. when the world expo was held in shanghai, the smile on volunteers’ faces impressed millions of people all around the world. yes we can. when the two kids fell into the river, fifteen freshmen of chang jiang university saved them from drowning regardless of the truth that they cannot swim. yes we can. we were there for the return of hong kong and macao, the olympic game in beijing, the 60th anniversary of founding of new china, and premier wen jiabao who told the survivors in earthquake that “we shall overcome.” yes we can.

as the only child in the family, however, some of us just like flowers growing in the greenhouse that take for granted, and parents will give them whatever they want, from toys to books, from watches to cell phones, from houses to cars. but apart from this, we have to be independent. everyone is an individual. you are not your parents’ sequel. you are not your kids’ prequel. you have your own talents and you have to rely on yourselves.

take responsibility. no one can support you in your whole life. no one
